Partners and sponsors

Founded in 2003, the Fondation pursues a double mission: preserving and promoting the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martine Franck, while serving as a unique space for dialogue and discovery dedicated to a sensitive, stimulating, and resolutely open photographic culture.

The Fondation organizes exhibitions devoted to its two founders, presented worldwide. It welcomes researchers and curators into its archives and encourages new critical perspectives through the Martine Franck Curatorial Research Grant.

Through the three categories of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Award—the Self-Published PhotoBook Award, the Creation Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award—, the Fondation supports contemporary photographic creation. It regularly exhibits the work of other photographers from diverse backgrounds, generations, and nationalities, and offers a strong program centered on photobooks. Committed to reconciling intellectual rigor, formal precision, and felt experience, the Fondation’s team strives to “bring head, eye, and heart in the same line of sight,” in the now-famous words of Henri Cartier-Bresson.

In 2026, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson is unveiling an ambitious program featuring:

  • six exhibitions, including two dedicated to major figures in photography, Daido Moriyama and Susan Meiselas;
  • the reissue of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s iconic book The Europeans, 70 years after its original publication;
  • the first edition of the Martine Franck Curatorial Research Grant;
  • the launch of Bold, the Self-Published PhotoBook Weekend;
  • the presentation of two Henri Cartier-Bresson Awards in support of contemporary creation.

To continue preserving this legacy and promoting contemporary photography, the Fondation calls upon the generosity of its donors. Every donation is essential support, as the Fondation fully funds its activities through its own resources and the commitment of its patrons.
